Denise Denington, M.A.-Owner/Operator of Northern Living Services

I have over 20 years’ experience providing direct service and case management for regional center clients, including 8 years as a service coordinator at North Bay Regional Center (NBRC).

Over the years, I’ve found that this work is not just a profession; it is a vocation that has profoundly shaped my life. While I dedicate myself to supporting regional center clients, the truth is, I have learned just as much—if not more—from them as they have from me. My clients have been incredible teachers, offering lessons in the very essence of the human spirit. They have taught me about resilience, demonstrating an unwavering ability to navigate life's challenges while bringing joy to our shared journey. My clients have also introduced me to the vast depth of human diversity, expanding my world view by graciously including me in their personal lives. In sharing their journeys, they have brought both great joy and deep sorrow. I have been privileged to stand beside them during the most significant of life events: celebrating the birth of their children, marking milestones like graduations and weddings, and holding space for them and their families at the end of their lives. These shared moments—both monumental and mundane—are the foundation of Northern Living Services. My clients have not only enhanced my life; they have enriched it immeasurably.

I love spending my free time outdoors, gardening, volunteering, and soaking up the arts scene in our beautiful community. When I'm relaxing, you can find me writing poetry, reading, or meditating. I'm a proud mom, grandma, and dog-mom!

I am the sole owner and operator of Northern Living Services. While I intend to expand our network of Independent Living Services (ILS) providers, I will exercise prudence in the selection of new staff. I am committed to finding individuals who possess the same degree of compassion, commitment, and competence that I bring to this work, thereby ensuring that every team member maintains an equivalent standard of dedication to the exceptional people we serve.
